CARBOHYDRATE

 

If you ask a person who is interested in bodybuilding about protein, he or she will be able to explain thoroughly regarding the benefits of it and how it aids in the process of gaining muscle. However, if you ask them regarding the importance of carbohydrate in a bodybuilding diet, i doubt if they will be able to provide the same thorough explanation the gave about protein. This is because the benefits of carbohydrate are often overlooked in when a person is into bodybuilding.

 

Carbohydrate is a very important component in a bodybuilding diet. The benefits are as follows :

  1. The higher the amount of carbohydrate you consume, the heavier the weight you will be able to lift.

  2. Carbohydrates give you insulin spike which puts your body into an anabolic (muscle building) state. Thus, your muscles get built up faster.

  3. Carbohydrates provide you with plenty of energy for you to recover after training.

 

There are plenty of food which are rich in carbohydrates such as potato, bread, fruits, grains, oatmeals, cereals etc..
